2. Overview

PathMemory is a free-to-play puzzle game. This privacy policy explains what data is collected, why, and how it is processed. We take your privacy seriously and collect only the minimum data necessary to provide the app's features.

3. Data We Collect

3.1 Account Data (optional)

You can play PathMemory without creating an account. If you choose to sign in (via Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple), we receive:

• Display name — shown on the leaderboard
• Email address — used for account identification only
• User ID — a unique identifier assigned by Firebase Authentication

We do not receive or store your password. Authentication is handled entirely by Google or Apple.

3.2 Game Data

If you are signed in, we store the following in Google Cloud Firestore:

• Your highscore (level reached and fields completed)
• Your display name (for the leaderboard)
• Timestamps (account creation, last played)

If you are not signed in, your highscore is stored locally on your device only.

3.3 Local Data

The app stores settings (e.g. haptic feedback preference) and your local highscore on your device using SharedPreferences. This data never leaves your device.

3.4 Advertising

PathMemory uses Google AdMob to display rewarded video ads. AdMob may collect:

• Device identifiers (Advertising ID)
• IP address
• General interaction data

On iOS, the app requests your permission via the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) dialog before any tracking occurs. You can decline, and the app will still function — ads will simply be non-personalized.

4. Purpose and Legal Basis

We process your data for the following purposes:

• Account management and leaderboard: Based on your consent (signing in voluntarily). Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
• Displaying ads: Based on our legitimate interest in funding the free app. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. On iOS, personalized ads require your explicit consent via ATT.
• Local storage: Necessary for the app to function. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

5. Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services that may process data:

• Firebase Authentication (Google LLC) — sign-in handling
• Cloud Firestore (Google LLC) — highscore and leaderboard storage
• Google AdMob (Google LLC) — rewarded video ads
• Google Sign-In (Google LLC) — optional authentication
• Sign in with Apple (Apple Inc.) — optional authentication on iOS

Data may be transferred to servers in the United States. Google LLC participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

6. Data Retention

Your account and game data are stored as long as your account exists. If you delete your account (via Settings in the app), all associated data in Firestore is deleted immediately. Local data can be removed by uninstalling the app.

7. Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent at any time
• Data portability
• Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

You can delete your account and all associated data directly in the app under Settings → Delete Account.

8. Children's Privacy

PathMemory is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The current version is always available at this URL. We encourage you to review it periodically.
